Salt and dried meat

Build production machines, extract salt and prepare provisions that never spoil.

In this guide

Two machines, two blueprints

The salt extractor and meat dryer each require their own discovered blueprint, an assembly table and one iron ingot to craft. Discovery order is free. They complement the forge and do not replace campfire cooking or water purification.

Salt extractor

Craft it with 5 wood, 6 stone, 1 string and 1 iron ingot. Its tank holds up to 10 litres. Add dirty-water bottles: each adds one litre and returns an empty bottle, which must fit in your inventory. Clean water is not accepted.

Start a batch: 1 litre takes 1 minute and produces 1 salt grain. Ten litres therefore take ten minutes for ten grains. You cannot add more water while a batch is running. This machine produces salt, not drinking water; purify bottles at a campfire.

Meat dryer

Craft it with 6 wood, 2 string and 1 iron ingot. Each batch accepts 1–3 meats, limited by available ingredients. Each result costs 1 fresh raw meat and 2 salt grains; three results cost three meats and six salt.

A batch takes 3 minutes, whether you prepare one, two or three meats. Spoiled meat is not accepted. Fish cannot replace raw meat in this machine.

Saved progress and collection

Durations are minutes of running simulation, not survival days. Production does not advance offline. Remaining batch time is saved and resumes with the adventure.

Collect the completed batch from the machine panel. If the result cannot fit in the bag, the ready batch stays in the machine until you free a slot. You cannot start another while the previous batch remains.

Expedition supplies

Each dried meat restores 32 hunger, gives no healing and never spoils. It is useful for long journeys and stored reserves, but does not replace water, bandages or warm clothing.

A practical chain: find blueprints → obtain a working forge and one iron ingot per machine → build both machines → extract salt → dry fresh meat → collect supplies before leaving.
